Large fire consumes abandoned house on Shepherd and Thornton Road

HOUSTON – Officials worked to put out a large fire that consumed an abandoned home on Shepherd and Thornton Road on Thursday.
Houston firefighters received reports about the blaze at around 12:56 p.m.
Sky 2 was over the scene, where large flames and clouds of smoke could be seen.
According to HFD, the house was set to be demolished. No injuries were reported and no one was transported to the hospital.
Officials have not said what caused the fire. HFD’s Arson Unit is investigating.
