Video shows suspects involved in failed robbery attempt at northeast Houston convenience store

HOUSTON – The Houston Police Department has released video footage of an attempted robbery at a northeast Houston convenience store in the hopes someone will recognize the suspects involved.

According to HPD, Aug. 24, at around 9:20 p.m., two unknown men entered the convenience store, located in the 3600 block of Oates Road.

One of the men was holding a handgun while the other had a pry bar and walked up to the door leading to the enclosed counter. The man with the pry bar tried to pry open the locked door leading to the cash registers, but was not able to force it open.

HPD said the suspects noticed a second employee in the store and locked him in a separate room. Both suspects fled the scene without taking anything.

The first suspect was wearing a black baseball cap, blue medical mask, blue long sleeve shirt, multicolored checkered pajama pants and white shoes.

The second suspect was wearing a white fishing style hat, blue shirt with red stripes across the shoulders, black pants and white shoes.
