The teen immediately brought the boy to his home a couple of doors down and called 911. A short time later, he fled the scene with the gun before officers arrived.

The boy was rushed to an area hospital where he remains in critical condition.

Izaguirre said investigators had a phone conversation with the parents of the 16-year-old, who was later taken into custody.

It’s unclear, at this time, if the teen will face any charges.
