Suspect arrested in May shooting that left man dead in Texas City

TEXAS CITY, Texas – A task force which included Texas City Police has arrested a suspect who is believed to be connected to a fatal Texas City shooting that happened on May 31.

Officers with the Gulf Coast Violent Offenders Task Force arrested Joshua Blanks and took him into custody Wednesday.

Blanks is accused of shooting a man and leaving him in the passenger side of a car in the 300 block of Texas Avenue.

Police said the wounded man was taken to a hospital, where he later died.

Blanks is charged with murder, terroristic threat, and criminal mischief.
