Segment of I-10 East frontage road near Wayside Drive reopens after roadway buckles in heat

HOUSTON – A segment of I-10 East frontage road near Wayside Drive has now reopened after being closed for repairs.

The Texas Department of Transportation told KPRC 2 the roadway buckled due to the heat.

The damage was reported at 8 p.m. Monday, according to TxDOT.

Sky 2 was over the area Tuesday morning as crews repaired the road.

Crews shut down the main lanes of I-10 East and the entrance ramp to I-10 East from Wayside.

TxDOT said they’ve seen several heat related issues on roadways this past month and are asking the public to stay vigilant.

“We do rely on the traveling public to give us some feedback they can call us at 713-802-5000,” said TxDOT spokesman Danny Perez.
