2 officers injured after hitting parked pickup truck in short pursuit of suspect in stolen vehicle in SE Houston, HPD says

HOUSTON – Two officers with the Houston Police Department are reportedly injured after a short pursuit of a suspect in a stolen vehicle Friday.

The officers initiated a pursuit of a stolen blue 2003 Lexus sedan in the 6900 block of Sherman Road around 1:51 a.m.

According to HPD, the chase lasted about a minute when the officers lost control of their vehicle and struck a parked pickup truck. Police said the suspect fled the scene.

Both officers were transported to the hospital with minor injuries.
