2 dead after being ejected from vehicle during chase in NW Harris Co., officials say; Suspects believed to have stolen catalytic converters

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Harris County authorities say two suspects are now dead after a vehicle chase with officials on Highway 99.

According to Constable Mark Herman, Precinct 4 deputies attempted to perform a traffic stop on suspects they believe had just stolen catalytic converters.

Once the suspects refused to stop, the pursuit began, Herman said.

As the chase made its way near Glennloch Drive at Highway 99 in northwest Harris County, the suspects reportedly lost control of the vehicle.

Two of the three passengers were ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene, the constable said.

The third suspect was reportedly transported to the hospital by LifeFlight in critical condition.

Herman also says catalytic converters were found at the scene.
