Gonzalez said the teen was found sitting in the passenger seat of a four-door sedan with a single gunshot wound to the head.

It was later learned that the teen and his brother were driving in the parking lot when they encountered the other teen boys, deputies said. There was an argument that broke out between the teens, which escalated.

Investigators spoke to the victim’s brother, who told them that the other teens fired several rounds into their vehicle following the fight. The suspects both fled on foot.

The injured teen was flown to Memorial Hermann via Life Flight in critical condition. On Friday, Harris County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that he is brain dead but will be kept alive for organ donation.
