Business evacuated after railcar leaks flammable liquid in Baytown, officials say

BAYTOWN, Texas – A business was evacuated Friday afternoon after a railcar leaked a flammable liquid, according to Baytown officials.

Baytown fire crews responded to the leak at Delta Petrochemical on Delta Parkway, near Highway 99 and FM 1405.

The railcar was at a docking facility when the leak occurred. The liquid was identified as Triethylamine, which is highly flammable.

Officials said the business was evacuated as hazmat teams contained the spill. The leak has stopped and clean up continues.

No injuries have been reported.
