HOUSTON – A man has died and three women were injured after police said a driver ran a red light, causing a crash in southwest Houston early Monday.

It happened on Harwin near Sam Houston Parkway around 1 a.m.

According to officers, a gray Toyota Corolla was driving near the intersection of Harwin and West Sam Houston Tollway South when another vehicle, a blue Toyota Camry, sped though a red light, causing the two vehicles to collide.

Investigators said one man who was driving by himself died and three other women in the other vehicle were transported to the hospital in unknown condition.

Police said they are unsure which driver was at fault, but they are investigating to see if the other surviving driver was intoxicated during the time of the crash.
