Police searching for suspect accused of shooting man for headbutting, punching him in the face

HOUSTON – Police are searching for a man wanted in connection with a shooting in east Houston that left one person injured.

The incident happened around 2:30 a.m. on July 25 at the Friendly Food Mart #1 along the Eastex Freeway near Market Street, police said.

Authorities said 29-year-old Damarian Blake was in the parking lot when he was approached by 28-year-old Terrance Lane.

Lane headbutted Blake and punched him in the face, at which point Blake pulled out a gun and fired at Lane, authorities said. Lane was hit in the chest, arm and abdomen, police said.

Officers said Lane was transported to a hospital in stable condition. Blake -- described as a slim Black man who was wearing a red sweatband on his head, a red T-shirt, blue jeans and white and red shoes – fled the scene.

Blake is charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.
