More than $3.4 million in methamphetamines, other narcotics seized in north Houston

Homeland Security officers believe this was the largest drug bust in the city of Houston’s history

HSI seizes more than $3.4 million in methamphetamines, other narcotics in North Houston (KPRC)

HOUSTON – Homeland Security Officers made what they believed to be the largest recorded drug bust in the city of Houston’s history on Wednesday.

Investigators said they seized approximately 1,789 pounds of methamphetamines and large quantities of other drugs during an investigation near North Shepherd and I-45 in north Houston.

Other agencies who participated in the joint operation included the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) Houston; Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) Houston; Harris County Constables Office Precinct 1; Harris County Constables Office Precinct 3; Texas Department of Public Safety; Houston Fire Department; U.S. Customs and Border Protection; and the Houston Police Department.

The estimated street value of the seizure is approximately $3.4 million, investigators said.

There’s no word on if any arrests were made.
