‘We were lucky in Panorama Village’: Storm barrels through Montgomery County

A Friday night storm that packed a punch and quite the scare in Montgomery County.

The mayor of Panorama Village had a massive tree topple over barely missing his home.

“I was asleep on the couch. And my wife grabbed me and I heard the noise. I didn’t know where I was. We ran to a closet.  That’s the first I knew about it,” said Mayor Lynn Scott.

While homes were spared, but the storm left many without power after it passed through.

“The rain was going sideways,” said resident Kirk Diebler.

He said he jumped on his motorcycle to survey the area and found plenty of debris,

“Well, I wanted to see why the power went out. Low and behold, look at the size of that tree,” he said.

Many in this community, just thankful the storm came and went, without any major damage.

“We dodged a bullet here. Several trees came down and didn’t hit anything. We were lucky in Panorama Village,” said Mayor Scott.
