HOUSTON – Harris County Judge Lina Hidalgo got her coronavirus shot Thursday.

Hidalgo got the vaccine at the Spring Branch Community Health Center, an effort she said was aimed at targeting vulnerable communities.

The judge said she thought it was important to publicly receive the vaccine so that others will see how easy and safe it is.

She reminded people that getting the shot is free, but an appointment is required. She encouraged people to join the Harris County waitlist, which can be found at readyharris.org.
