Man in his 70s shot in face during drive-by in north Harris County, deputies say

HOUSTON – Harris County sheriff’s deputies are investigating after they said a man in his 70s was shot in his face during a drive-by Tuesday.

Deputies said the shooting happened in the 8800 block of Chipping Lane around 11:30 p.m.

When they arrived at the scene, deputies said they found an elderly man who had been shot in the face. According to investigators, the man had been lying in bed when the shooter shot up the house. He was hit in his nose, deputies said. Deputies said the suspects shot multiple rounds from two different weapons.

Deputies said there were approximately 15 rounds in front of the house and then other rounds as they were leaving the neighborhood.

According to investigators, the man was transported to a local hospital where he’s in stable condition. Deputies said doctors were able to remove the bullet without surgery.

Deputies said it is unclear if the man was the intended target. According to investigators, there were two suspects were driving a black sedan.
