HOUSTON – Three people were taken into custody Monday after a chase ended in northeast Houston.
The chase was first reported about 5 p.m. after the trio robbed a GameStop at gunpoint, at the intersection of S. Shepherd Drive and Westheimer Road, Houston Police confirmed.
The trio is accused of speeding off in a white Chevrolet Camaro.
About 5:20 p.m., the white car being chased stopped at the intersection of the I-610 North Loop feeder road and North McCarty Street.
At least a dozen police vehicles were at the scene. Officers drew their guns, used their doors as shields while they waited for the people in the car to exit.
Houston police said that just before 6 p.m. three people were taken into custody.
Police said that no shots were fired and no injuries were reported.
Police recovered a pistol from the suspects' car, investigators said. Witnesses on scene added police also recovered a wad of cash.
Police have not released the names of the suspects.
