HOUSTON – It was an unexpected delivery for two pregnant identical twins who gave birth to their babies on the same day.
Karen Escobar and Kathy Escobar delivered their babies within hours of each other Thursday at the Woman's Hospital of Texas.

Kathy initially went to the hospital to support her sister through labor. That's when she began experiencing her own labor pains.
Kathy's daughter, Aimet Angela Gonzalez, was delivered first, followed by Karen's son, Liam Antonio Vargas.
Both mothers and babies are doing well.
