Fire at Ruggles Black restaurant prompts temporary closure

HOUSTON – A fire Wednesday at the Ruggles Black restaurant prompted a temporary closure of the Houston eatery.

The fire was reported in the pizza area about 12:30 p.m. at the intersection of Kirby Road and Southwest Freeway.

Firefighters said the fire caused some damage to the Upper Kirby neighborhood restaurant.

The pizza area reopened Wednesday night.

No injuries were reported.
