HOUSTON – A man was robbed and killed in front of his wife and daughter by four young teenagers at a southwest Houston apartment complex Saturday night, police said.
Harris County Sheriff's Homicide investigators said the murder happened at the Miramar Apartments at Bissonett and Synott. Detectives said the family of three was returning home from a night out around midnight and pulled into a parking spot, when four teenagers ambushed the father, Victor Quevedo.
The men demanded cash and cell phones from Quevedo. The men then shot him, deputies said. He died at the scene.
In tears, Quevedo's 13-year-old daughter, Jacqueline Castillo said her dad struggled with the men because he was trying to protect her and her mother. At one point, Quevedo's wife said one of the men held a gun to her head.
The men also took Jacqueline's purse, but it had no money in it. Altogether, the family said the men got away with two cell phones.
"The suspects are four Hispanic males that we know of," said Sgt. Phillipe Rivera. "We're doing the investigation trying to get some positive ID on the suspects."
Deputies said the four men weren't even men at all—they were young teenagers not much older than Quevedo's 13-year-old daughter. They got away in a light brown car with heavily tinted windows.
