Family, friends say final goodbyes to Houston Rodeo legend Bill Bailey

HOUSTON- – Family and friends Wednesday celebrated the life of Bill Bailey, the longtime voice of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo.

A memorial service was held Wednesday afternoon at the First Baptist Church of Pasadena, off the Fairmont Parkway. 

Bailey's career with the rodeo spanned more than five decades. He retired from the show in 2015.

Bailey started as a DJ with KIKK radio, and then served as a Harris County Precinct 8 constable from 1983 until 2011.

He died July 27. Bailey was 78 years old.
