Burglary ring busted in north Harris County

HARRIS COUNTY, Texas – Two men and three juveniles were arrested in north Harris County on Tuesday.

Authorities said those who were arrested were part of a burglary ring responsible for as many as 29 burglaries in Harris County.

During January, Harris County deputies were dispatched to the 800 block of North Oak Drive in reference to several reports of burglaries.

When authorities saw the pattern, a crime analysis was assembled, according to officials.

The analysis showed 29 burglaries believed to have been committed by the same group. It also provided the dates and times the group was operating.

Several of the group members were identified through surveillance video from residents.

Three juveniles were charged with burglary of a habitation.

Camrell Stewart and Darcell Smith were charged with theft.

Authorities said the investigation is ongoing and two other juveniles may face charges.

The five people who were charged have been linked to 24 burglaries so far.
