All-clear given at Clear Lake High School after gas leak; classes resume

CLEAR LAKE, Texas – Students at Clear Lake High School have been allowed to return to class after crews repaired a gas leak on campus.

About 2,500 students from the high school and the Ninth Grade Center were moved to a parking lot at University of Houston Clear Lake and a practice field near Falcon Pass Elementary School around 11:20 a.m.

According to officials, a construction crew was working on school grounds when a gas line was ruptured.  CenterPoint Energy workers arrived and brought the situation under control, and students were allowed to return to class around 12:25 p.m.
