KATY, Texas – Things now look a lot different at Katy Mills Mall.
The inside of the family-friendly mall was given a makeover recently replete with upgrades.

Katy Mills Mall recently celebrated its 20th anniversary by completing a massive interior transformation, giving the mall a more "bright and upscale look, an updated dining pavilion, a beautiful movie theater courtyard and a widely popular, interactive Disney Jr. play area to further add to its entertainment offerings for all ages."
It was announced Tuesday upgrades for the exterior of the mall will soon follow.
"Looking back on the two decades we've shared with the community, we knew embarking on a total property transformation would elevate the shopping experience for today's modern consumers and their future needs," said James Ross, general manager of Katy Mills. "These improvements were designed with our shoppers and retailers in mind, and we are excited to finalize the center's fresh look with the exterior makeover just in time for the holidays."
Here's what can you expect with the exterior upgrades:
-- Dynamic light towers with oversized, illuminated mall entry identification numbers -- State-of-the-art LED lighting as well as new monument and directional signs -- Entrance design embellishments such as woven metal mesh screens -- Exterior painting, new concrete walkways and refreshed landscaping
The mall will remain open and operating throughout the exterior project.
