MUGSHOTS: 15 arrested during undercover prostitution sting
One man was arrested twice
HOUSTON – The fight against human trafficking and prostitution continued in Harris County after 15 men were arrested in an undercover operation.
Officials with the Harris County Precinct 4 Constable's Office said their focus was to suppress the demand for prostitution in front of businesses and in neighborhoods in their area.
During the prostitution bust, 15 men were arrested and charged with prostitution after officials said they solicited sex or sex acts from undercover investigators.
Officials said the operation coincides with many schools in the area going on summer break.
"We hit the FM 1960 area from Kuykendahl east toward Aldine Westfield. And then you can venture 2 miles north of 1960, 2 miles south into those neighborhoods, into those communities," Harris County Constable Mark Herman said.
Herman said Tomas Gonzalez was arrested twice during the sting. He was arrested during the initial sting and then returned to the area the following day with his daughter and spotted one of the undercover officers talking to a suspected John, Herman said. Gonzalez then attempted to blow the deputy's cover, according to Herman.
"Basically ran up to the location and started yelling, 'She's a cop, she's a cop,'" Herman said. "Mr. Gonzalez was arrested again. His daughter was also arrested for interfering with the public duties of a peace officer."
Herman said the charges were dismissed.
He said during Friday's press conference that another undercover operation is going on currently.
If anyone sees or suspects a location of supporting prostitution, they are asked to call 281-376-3472.
