Woman killed in crash nearly 24 hours before she was found, officials say

CYPRESS, Texas – A woman's body was found in a crashed vehicle late Friday nearly 24 hours after the crash, investigators said.

Officials with the Harris County Sheriff's Office said a person driving by the scene, located at Highway 99 and Louetta Road, about 11:30 p.m. Friday and noticed a car in a ditch. 

Deputies said the passerby called 911 and when investigators arrived, they found a woman dead next to the car. The woman was later identified as Glorielyz Lopez Lorenzo, according to the Harris County Medical Examiner's Office.

Investigators said the believe Lorenzo failed to stop at a stop sign and drove through a dead-end barricade. The vehicle jumped a small hill, landed on the passenger's side and rolled over before coming to rest at the bottom of a culvert. Lorenzo was thrown from the vehicle.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
