HOUSTON – A Houston teenager who murdered his girlfriend, and then shared images of her body with his friends, will spend the rest of his life in prison.

Jesus Campos Jr., 18, received his sentence this week.

He was convicted of capital murder in the May 2016 death of 15-year-old Karen Perez.

Investigators said after searching Campos' phone, they found images and a recording of Campos sexually assaulting and strangling Perez.

During his trial, it was revealed that Campos shared images of Perez after he killed her.
