Suspicious device found at Freeport chemical plant

FREEPORT, Texas – A device that resembled a pipe bomb was discovered at LNG chemical plant, according to Freeport police.

Freeport Police Chief Ray Garivey said an employee found the device and took it to the police department.

Bomb experts from Texas City are investigating to see if the device is explosive.

No one has been injured since the device was detected.
