HOUSTON – Houston police said someone robbed two mall employees dropping money off at a Bank of America on FM 1960 within three days.
A woman who was parked at the Bank of America located at 7455 FM 1960 West after completing her Monday evening shift was about to deposit money for her job when a man approached her with a gun and demanded the money, according to police.
The police report states the woman complied, and the man also went inside her car and stole her wallet before taking off.
A similar incident happened on Aug. 10 at the same location. In that incident, an employee of a different store arrived at the Bank of America around 10:40 p.m. to make a deposit and was robbed.
"I was quite surprised when you told me that they had those at gunpoint," Villa Bodden, store manager at Panache Bridal and Formal dress store, said. "It’s very unsettling because I don’t want to think the area is changing."
The store where she works is less than a mile away from Willowbrook Mall. Bodden said the store doesn’t handle much cash since most customers pay for wedding and formal dresses with a card, but Bodden said they employees still have to be on alert.
"We have to be aware of what’s around us. We have to know where our risks lie, so another reason why we don’t deal with a lot of cash," Bodden said.
Police said the description they have of the man is limited, but he was seen driving a silver, four-door car.
