PGA Tour arrives for the Houston Open

HOUSTON – The PGA Tour returns to the Bayou City this week as the Houston Open tees off at the Golf Club of Houston starting on Thursday.

The whole week, beginning Monday, will be filled with pro-am’s and practice rounds before the tournament begins.

The field, once again, is world class, featuring six of the top 20 ranked players in the world. Phil Mickelson returns for his 11th straight year while Jordan Spieth is back in Houston for a sixth straight year.

KPRC-TV Channel 2 will broadcast a Houston Open special on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. live from the Golf Club of Houston.

It will be hosted by KPRC Channel 2 sports director Randy McIlvoy and KPRC news anchor Rachel McNeill with reports from KPRC sports reporters Adam Wexler and Lainie Fritz.

McIlvoy was joined by Houston Open tournament director Steve Timms in the studio Sunday night for "Sports Sunday."

Here’s their conversation as they get you ready for the Houston Open this week.
