HOUSTON – A Harris County woman is accused of shooting her husband to death after his decomposing remains were found by authorities in their Harris County home.

Cynthia D. Willis, 48, is charged with murder in the death of Eric Willis, 51.

Authorities allege in court documents that the shooting happened on or about March 10.

The Harris County Sheriff’s Office told KPRC that a welfare check request led them to the Willis’ address in the 9600 block of Rex Creek Court. Family members told authorities they had not seen the 51-year-old in several days.

Once there, deputies said they found the decomposing remains of a man with a gunshot wound to the head.

Court records nor authorities indicate a possible motive in this case.

Willis is being held in the Harris County Jail on a $100,000 bond.
