Woman steals $4,700 worth of Michael Kors bags from Macy's

THE WOODLANDS, Texas – A woman was arrested and charged for stealing 15 Michael Kors bags following a hit-and-run incident, deputies said. 

Maria Rangel, 26, was pulled over on the Mall Ring Road after a reported hit-and-run at The Woodlands Mall. Montgomery County deputies said that during the investigation they found 15 Michael Kors purses in Rangel's vehicle.

Deputies said the tags were still on the purses, and they were worth $4,700 in total. They also found a pair of wire cutters in one of the purses.

After deputies reviewed video of Macy's department store, Rangel and two others could be seen stealing the purses.

The purses were returned to Macy's and Rangel was arrested and charged with failure to stop and render aid from the hit-and run incident, and felony possession of stolen property for the purses.

The two other accomplices have been identified and warrants have been issued for their arrests.
