Fort Bend County man found dead after trying to sell Audi

RICHMOND, Texas – A man who went missing Thursday after he left his home to meet a potential buyer for his Audi vehicle was found dead behind a dumpster in the 3000 block of Truxillo Street at around 11 p.m. Thursday, according to investigators.

His body appeared to have been dead for several days, investigators said.

Altaf Malik, 43, left his home in the 7000 block of Misty Morning Trace in the Richmond area around 9 p.m. Tuesday to meet a potential buyer of his car, officials said. The vehicle he was driving was the vehicle he was intending to sell.

He was not seen or heard from by anyone in his family until his body was found with multiple stab wounds in the Third Ward, Malik's family said.

His wife, Quratulain Malik, says he met a potential buyer in the area off Highway 6 and Bellaire in west Houston.

"He's the father of four kids and he's a very loving person ... He's a very kind-hearted person. So I'm asking everybody to help me," she said.

She had been trying get a hold of him through phone calls and text messages, but his phone was off.

He was driving a black 2009 Audi A8 with the Texas tag HZX-9910. The vehicle has no unique markings or damage, officials say.
