Gun jams, misfires, fatally shoots handler's brother, their mother says

HOUSTON – One brother is dead after the other accidentally shot and killed him, Houston police said, calling it a "tragic accident."

The shooting happened just after midnight in the 1400 block of Teanaway Street in east Houston.

Twenty-one-year-old John Bradley took the clip out of his gun, cocked it back and the gun jammed, his mother tells KPRC.

John Bradley attempted to re-cock the gun, and when it released, the gun fired, fatally striking his 19-year-old brother, Joshua Bradley in the head, their mother said. John Bradley did not pull the trigger, his mother said.

Their mother, Joy, says John Bradley will not be charged, however police have not confirmed those details as of Saturday morning.

No funeral or vigil arrangements have been made as of Saturday morning.

Stay with KPRC as we learn more about this incident.
