Observed on November 13, World Kindness Day is celebrated by the World Kindness Movement "to inspire individuals towards greater kindness by connecting nations to create a kinder world."

Members of the movement include over 28 nations with representatives from Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, India, Italy, Japan, Liberia, Malaysia, Mexico, Nepal, Netherlands, New Zealand, Nigeria, Oman, Pakistan, Romania, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea,Switzerland,Thailand, United Arab Emerites, Ukraine, United Kingdom and with six member organizations in the USA.

Watch their video to celebrate this year’s World Kindness Day below:

Houstonians have shown their kindness in recent months, risking their own lives to save people trapped in their homes due to Hurricane Harvey, and cleaning up for each other in the storm’s aftermath.

But kindness doesn’t have to be grand gestures. Sometimes, it’s about just picking up someone's tab. That's what happened at a Chick-fil-A restaurant in Houston last year. Drivers “paid it backward” for 67 cars.

What does kindness mean to you? Have you seen an act of kindness you’ll never forget? Share your thoughts in the comments.
