1 man killed, another injured in north Houston home invasion

3 robbers on the run, police say

HOUSTON – One man was killed and another injured during a home invasion Thursday in north Houston.

Police said three men confronted a resident outside a home in the 200 block of Casa Grande around 2:30 a.m. and then forced their way in.

The men demanded items from the residents inside, police said. According to investigators, women and children were asleep in another room when one of the robbers shot both of the men, police said. 

One victim, 55, was shot in the stomach and died at the scene. The other man was shot in the leg and taken to a hospital. His condition was not immediately known.

The women and children were not injured.

The trio got away with cash, a purse and a cellphone, police said.

Police are investigating if the robbery was targeted.

No arrests have been made.
