Father arrested, accused of leaving 3-year-old alone in locked car
Anas Zakria Al WedyaHOUSTON – A father was arrested, accused of leaving his 3-year-old son alone in a locked car for nearly two hours.
Witnesses said they spotted the boy on Sunday, crying, in a parked blue BMW in Hermann Park.
Witnesses reported the incident to police, who called a wrecker company to unlock the car and remove the child.
Police said the suspect, Anas Zakria Al-Wedyan, arrived at the scene and told police he had only been gone a few minutes.
Al-Wedyan was arrested and charged with abandoning a child with intent to return.
The boy, who police said was uninjured, was released to his mother.
