Houston radio host Matt Patrick discontinues cancer treatments

HOUSTON – During his final show Wednesday on 740 KTRH-AM, radio host Matt Patrick announced he will no longer seek treatment for his esophageal cancer that he has been fighting since late 2015.

Patrick told listeners that he has exhausted all options.

A statement posted on the station's website invited listeners to send their well wishes to Patrick.

The statement also read: "Matt and all of us at Newsradio 740 KTRH, and the iHeartMedia family, thank you all for your constant love and support during this difficult time."

The station also said it will pass along more information about Patrick's condition as it becomes available.
