Body found in SW Houston ditch

HOUSTON – A body was found in a southwest Houston ditch on Saturday, according to Houston police.

Authorities believe the body is that of a Hispanic man. The man's cause of death is unknown at this time.

Authorities are awaiting autopsy results to identify the man and to determine a cause of death.

The body was spotted floating in Bering Bayou near 6300 Windswept Lane at about 4:30 p.m. by a pedestrian walking along the bayou, according to authorities. The bayou runs between two large apartment complexes.

A dive team retrieved the body.
