Armed duo robs Houston Dolex Dollar Express upon opening, police say

Men forced employees to walk to back office, police say

HOUSTON – Crime Stoppers and Houston police's robbery division are asking for the public's help in identifying two armed men who robbed a Dolex Dollar Express as it was opening.

It happened just before 9 a.m. Monday at the Dolex Dollar Express in the 6700 block of Canal Street in Houston.

Two armed men entered the business as employees were opening up for the day. Police said the men forced the employees to walk to the back office.

The men forced the employees to open the safe and removed the money. Police said they then took their personal property.

The men, who wore clothing that concealed their identities, left driving a gray 2008 to 2011 Mercury Grand Marquis, police said.

One robber is described by police as a black man with a dark complexion who is 32 to 36 years old, 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 180 pounds. Police said he wore a gray hoodie.

The other robber is described by police as a black man who is 32 to 36 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 190 pounds. Police said he wore a red hoodie, white pants and a black cap.
