Diaperless toddler found near northeast Houston dumpster

HOUSTON – A 2-year-old was found Wednesday by a dumpster in an apartment complex in northeast Houston

Officials said police were called at 9 a.m for a welfare check at North Wayside Drive, where the child was found without a diaper in the Settegast Heights Village apartment complex.

According to police, the 2-year-old boy walked out of an apartment while his uncle, who was babysitting him, was asleep.

Employees of the apartment complex found the child and took him to the leasing office. Police said the child's mother, who was at work at the time, was called and the apartment door was found open. 

Police said the child's uncle was arrested and charged with endangering a child.
