HOUSTON – Officers with the Houston Police Department and other Harris County law enforcement agencies have been working to decrease the amount of crime committed by men who they said are members of criminal street gangs.
According to local law enforcement, 17 men, who police allege are documented gang members, are from the 5th Ward neighborhood of northeast Houston and represent numerous currently pending cases in Harris County.

Most of the men are free on bond. Two are wanted with open felony warrants.
The 17 men have criminal histories including more than 342 offenses in Harris County. These men are suspects in numerous pending felony investigations.
