HOUSTON – The suspect in the Haverstock Hill Apartments shooting that killed two people and wounded four is expected Friday in court.
Harvey Jones, 34, was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the Sunday shooting at the north Houston apartment complex.
Police said two people pulled up to the apartment complex in a vehicle, got out, one of them grabbed a gun and the other one began shooting the gun. The shooting, which police said stemmed from an earlier argument, killed Gary Rushner, 31, and Christopher Beatty, 33. Two other men and two women were injured.
Jones’ brother, Jeremy, was originally also charged in connection with the shooting; however, investigators dropped those charges Thursday, calling it a case of mistaken identity.
Police said they are still looking for the second person involved in the case.
It was not immediately clear if Jeremy Jones will also be in the courtroom.
