Authorities chase driver from Beaumont to Houston

HOUSTON – A man led authorities on a chase from Beaumont, Texas, to the Southwest Freeway in Houston, officials said.

According to authorities, early Sunday morning the owner of a Toyota pickup saw his pickup driving away, so he decided to jump in the bed of the truck.

The owner of the truck called police and officials caught up to them, but the driver refused to stop, authorities said. 

Officials chased the truck from Beaumont to the Southwest Freeway at Bissonnet Street where the driver finally stopped and they were able to take him into custody.

No one was injured during the chase.
