LEAGUE CITY, Texas – One woman was hurt and one home was destroyed by a fire in League City Friday morning.
The League City Volunteer Fire Department responded to the fire at 205 West Saunders Street, near Texas State Highway 3, just before 7 a.m.

Crews said the house was engulfed in flames. They were able to control the flames within 30 minutes, but the house was a total loss. League City Fire Marshal Tommy Cones said the actions of firefighters helped lower the impact to nearby homes.
One woman was injured during the fire and was taken to University of Texas Medical Branch - Galveston. Three of her dogs are alive and well, but the fourth one is still missing.
The Webster Fire Department, League City Emergency Medical Services and League City police also responded to the fire.
The cause remains under investigation.
