Man, woman found dead in west Houston home

HOUSTON – Police said a man and a woman were found dead Thursday morning in a west Houston home.

The incident was reported about 9 a.m. at a home in the 1100 block of Ridgecrossing Lane.

Houston police said a family member called and said he or she had not heard from the man or woman for a couple of days. Officers conducted a welfare check and found the bodies in two different rooms inside the home.

Originally, police described the incident as a murder-suicide, but a detective at the scene would only describe it as death investigation.

The victims have not been identified, but police said they are middle-aged and are believed to be the owners of the home.

Neighbors were shocked.

"Very surprised. This is a quiet neighborhood and just seeing all the police activity, it was a surprise," neighbor Laura Gorten said.

Police said it did not appear that anyone had broken into the home.

Anyone with information in this case is asked to call the HPD Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS.
