Security guard shoots man carrying gun

HOUSTON – Police are investigating a shooting involving a security guard.

Police responded to the call of a shooting around 12:30 am Thursday at the Reserve at Westwood Apartments on Bissonnet and Brooklet Drive.

According to investigators, a security guard spotted a man walking through the apartments carrying a gun.

The man refused to stop and allegedly pointed his gun at the guard.

The guard opened fire and shot the man.

He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

The security guard was not hurt. 

It is unclear why the man had the gun or where he was going.
