HOUSTON – The popular Houston nightclub V Live has been closed after officials said the club failed to pay taxes.

The property was raided on Tuesday by state agents, who seized more than $17,000 in cash from the nightclub's safe, officials said.

State officials said V Live owes close to $200,000. It owes about $175,000 in sexually-oriented business taxes and another $20,000 in state sales tax, according to reports.

The club owners have 20 days to either pay the back taxes or make arrangements for a payment plan before the comptroller can start liquidating the seized assets.

The club garnered some unwanted attention recently when Moses Malone's son sued the club in civil court after he says he was assaulted and robbed outside the club for criticizing Rockets star James Harden on Facebook.
