Student with gun arrested at Dobie High School

HOUSTON – A Dobie High School student was arrested for possession of a firearm on school property on Monday, according to the school.

The student was arrested by Pasadena Independent School District Police.

This is the phone message sent to parents:

"In an attempt to keep the lines of communication open, this afternoon, a student was arrested at Dobie High School for possession of a firearm on school property. Immediately upon notification from an anonymous tip, campus administration contacted Pasadena ISD Police, which prompted immediate action and a student was arrested.

The Student Code of Conduct clearly addresses the topic of students bringing weapons to school: “A student shall be expelled from a school if the student, on school property … uses, exhibits, or possesses a firearm.”

School security is an effort requiring cooperation among educators, law enforcement, parents, and students. If you or your child witnesses something harmful or that may cause harm, please report it to the proper authorities."
