Crime Stoppers seeks Breyon Long after child nearly drowns

HOUSTON – Authorities are asking for the public's help in finding a woman responsible for endangering a child.

Breyon Long, 50, allowed 6- and 8-year-old children to get in a swimming pool without adult supervision at an apartment complex in the 5500 block of Desoto Street at 4 p.m. on July 7, authorities said.

The 8-year-old child nearly drowned during the incident. Authorities said the child was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Long was charged with endangering a child during the incident, authorities said.

Long is described by authorities as a black woman who is 5 feet 1 inch tall, weighing 165 pounds, with short black hair and brown eyes.

Crime Stoppers of Houston said it will pay a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to the charging and/or arrest of Long.
