Hamblen Road closed for train stuck on track

KINGWOOD, Texas – Hamblen Road is closed due to a train being stuck on the tracks in Kingwood, according to city council member Dave Martin.

According to the Union Pacific Railroad Company a train traveling south had to come to an emergency stop after detaching from cars due to a low spot on the bridge it was attempting to cross.

There were no injuries as a result of the accident, officials said.

Martin said Kingwood Drive and Northpark Drive are unaffected and he is advising people to use these two roads to get into Forest Coves and the Kingwood Community.

Avoid Hamblen Road while trying to get in and out of Kingwood. Police are diverting traffic away from the area.
